The NMC have released a new publication about Supervisors Of Midwives which can be downloaded here.
"This leaflet informs you how the supervision of midwives and a supervisor of midwives can directly support both you and the midwife giving you care."

Commission to engage in robust dialogue to identify challenges and opportunities for nurses and midwives, so we’d like to hear your views about nursing and midwifery in England. Everyone’s views are welcome and you are encouraged to contribute!
The deadline for your comments to reach us is Monday August 10th, 2009,
but that’s not the end of the dialogue. We’ll study all your comments and use them to shape the Commission’s messages. Then we’ll study the feedback left on this website, the results of public events and what people are saying in the media, to see whether we have got the messages
right – which will shape our final recommendations to the Prime Minister."
