Ann White, the Andover Birth Centre midwifery manager, retires soon. Her last working day is 30 November. Join us in wishing Ann much health and happiness during her retirement.
This recent photgraph of Andover Birth Centre staff with a new mum, was taken when HSA was thanked officially, for very kindly donating £10,000 to the birth centre.
The Midwives at the birth centre are lead by managers Cindy Shawley and Lesley Sharkey (Supervisor of Midwives).
All the surgeries in Andover are covered by Midwives from the birth centre, and they hold regular clinics in each one.
Maternity Care Assistants Sandra Brookman & Helen George support all the Midwives during the day shifts. Together with some core midwives, Linda Cleverley our ward clerk, and Pam our cleaner, these staff members are to be found at the birth centre during the week.
In addition to the above named staff members, there is a core team of Midwives and Care Assistants who, based in the birth centre, work on night duty, at weekends, or hold clinics in the birth centre, whom you may also get to meet.
The NHS Choices website has comprehensive advice for all pregnant women about Swine Flu, it's treatment and measures to help prevent it.
“Supervisors of midwives give guidance and support to both midwives and you to ensure that the care offered is right for you, is given in the right place, by the right person and that it will benefit you and your baby.”
